Midsummer Scream is the world’s largest Halloween and Horror Convention, feeding our need for Halloween all year round. This year, the convention will commence from July 26-28 at Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, CA. What can you expect? We’ve highlighted a few of our favorite things.

Universal Monsters and Halloween Horror Nights

Universal will have a presence at the con with booth #219 featuring Universal MonstersChucky and M3GAN with exclusive product, daily giveaways, and photo-ops, PLUS:

  • Saturday, July 27: The Bride, Frankenstein’s Monster and Dracula LIVE
  • Sunday, July 28: An appearance from Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood Creative Director, John Murdy who will be signing an exclusive piece of art.

PANEL: Sunday, July 28 (time TBA) – Creative Director John Murdy will announce Halloween Horror Nights 2024 details at a premiere panel on the main stage.

Knott’s Scary Farm, Six Flags Magic Mountain’s Fright Fest, Winchester Mystery House and more will also have big panels announcing their haunting details. Check out @midsummerscream for details.

Hall of Shadows

Each year we look forward to the Hall of Shadows, which is a massive 75,000 square foot dark room with over a dozen haunted walk-through experiences. Mazes by professional and home haunters throughout California aim to scare and delight. If you love Halloween Horror Nights and other themed haunts, the Hall of Shadows tides you over until October.

Horror and Halloween Celebrities

Midsummer Scream boasts a celebrity special-guest lineup that includes the Roger L. Jackson (the voice of Scream’s Ghost Face) Boulet Brothers (Dragula); John Kassir (Tales from the Crypt); Garret Sander, the creator of Monster High, accompanied by voice cast from the animated TV series; and more! Full details here.

Make and Take Prop Workshop

On July 27 & 28, you can learn haunt prop making skills and walk away with a prop of your own! Workshops include making a Skull and Candly Prop, a Creepy Apothecary Bottle, and a Custom Tombstone. Material fees required to be paid in advance – reserve your space here.
