488: FRANKENSTEIN’s Lasting Legacy & Frightful Fun Facts!
Universal Monster Movies still permeate our pop culture zeitgeist nearly 100 years after their creation. Frankenstein’s Monster, The Bride, The Wolf Man, Dracula – each name conjures up monstrous black and white visions. So after a recent visit to Universal Studios Hollywood where we got some face time with Frankenstein and The Bride, and walked on Stage 12 where these famous Monster Movies were filmed, we decided to watch all 8 Frankenstein films! It’s the U-MCU (Universal Monsters Cinematic Universe)!
In this episode we go over each Frankenstein film, spanning the years 1931-1948, and share the many fun facts we learned, including revelations on the score and film music in general. How do these films connect with Disney, Star Wars, and The Monkees?? What is their legacy? Let’s dive in! IT’S ALIVE! IT’S ALIVE!!!
