We wish a big Happy 59th birthday to John Knoll!

John Knoll was the ILM Visual Effects Supervisor for the Star Wars prequels, The Mandalorian, and Rogue One – which he also has a ‘story by’ credit. 

He also had a cameo appearance in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace as a fighter pilot. 

John Knoll’s visual effects work can also be seen in dozens of films including Willow (1988), Avatar (2009), and most recently Jungle Cruise (2021).
