How to Build Your Own Droid

Our friend, amazing podcaster Teresa Delgado (Fangirls Going Rogue / Disney Vault Talk / Sabers and Spells), created a beautiful purple BB droid (BB-T19) in Galaxy’s Edge! We documented the experience from cute conveyor belt to choosing droid innards to activation. You can choose to build either a BB unit or an R-Astromech unit, and there are several colors to choose from. Either one costs $99.99, and you can also purchase an optional “personality chip” for $12.99. These chips are either First Order, Resistance or Smuggler, and give your droid different sounds and reactions to different things throughout Galaxy’s Edge.

Interacting and Waking Up a Sleeping Droid

This video features Teresa’s NEW BB-T19 interacting with Galaxy’s Edge. Did your droid fall asleep when you got home? Here’s how to wake up a BB Droid.

VLOG: Teresa & Sarah Visit Galaxy’s Edge

This is a more in-depth look at our whole day in Galaxy’s Edge. (Well, really only 4 hours as it was the first week of the Reservation period.) You will get to see Teresa experience Batuu and Black Spire Outpost for the very first time. They build a BB droid named BB-T19, meet Rey and so much more. Join us as we explore Batuu.

As of now, the Build-A-Droid experience is ONLY available in Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland, and at Walt Disney World beginning August 29th (and for the preview period before that). There’s no word yet if this will be available on the Shop Disney Parks App, but due to the nature of this experience and choosing your own pieces, I doubt it. BIG THANKS to Teresa for a FUN visit with her!
