Star Wars Fast Food Premiums: 1977
Several weeks ago during a pre-show discussion with listeners, we were trying to remember what fast food chain offered which Star Wars Fast Food Premiums. Did Burger King have posters or glasses? When did McDonalds join in? How many toys were offered at what restaurants for The Phantom Menace? And, what is Burger Chef? After culling through a few existing partial lists online and maaaaaaaany YouTube videos, I am pretty sure I found all the US based toys, posters, Jedi Wisdom Cubes, scratch cards, collector glasses, Joking Jar Jar Binks, watches, cup toppers, etc. If I am missing any please let me know (share@skywalkingthroughneverland.com). I did come across a few international which are also noted.
Each week I will post another era of Star Wars Fast Food Premiums, along with their commercials if I could find them. Especially enjoy these vintage ads – thanks YouTube!

Star Wars Burger Chef Ad
In this 1977 commercial, C-3P0 and R2-D2 rush to their local Burger Chef restaurant to get a set of handsome 18″ x 24″ Star Wars posters. Burger Chef was a major fast-food chain in the 60s and 70s, but gradually diminished until the last store closed in 1996.
To Be Continued….
As noted above, this will be a weekly series. Look for a BUNCH of Fast Food Premiums as Empire Strikes Back hit theaters in 1980.
